Happy Holidays! This month, we鈥檝e been showing gratitude for 91吃瓜网 students, families, and听our entire community. From honoring 91吃瓜网 Champions to coat drives and potlucks, the 91吃瓜网 community relations team has been busy this November.听 Take a look at what happened last month with KIPP in the Community.
Dr. Charlene Drew Jarvis Honored at 91吃瓜网 Champions Dinner 鈥撎�On November 30, Dr.听Charlene Drew Jarvis,听a trusted 91吃瓜网听advisor and former board member, was听honored at 91吃瓜网鈥檚 Champions Dinner. Dr. Jarvis has been incredibly influential in our efforts to increase family and community engagement and听collaboration with District education leaders. We鈥檙e so thankful to have true champions like Dr. Jarvis, and so many others, paving the way for 91吃瓜网 students and a brighter and more equitable District of Columbia.
91吃瓜网 Parents Work with DC Public Charter School Board and DC PAVE 鈥� We鈥檙e excited to have two 91吃瓜网 parents be听selected to begin working with the D.C. charter and education communities to bring about important initiatives for students. Mr. Reggie Workman will join 听team as a Ward 8 parent leader and Ms. Shaniola Arowalaju will represent 91吃瓜网 as a member of the DC Public Charter School Board鈥檚 Parent and Alumni Leadership Council. Congratulations!听
Ward 7 Community Coat Drive 鈥� Alongside 91吃瓜网 parent Ms. Veda Rasheed, the 91吃瓜网 community relations team spent the day volunteering at the Ward 7 Community Coat Drive Giveaway! In conjunction with other community partners, coaches, and families,听the event provided families with warm coats and hats for the winter months! Girls on the Run 5K 鈥撎�On November 19, students and staff from 91吃瓜网 Quest Academy attended and completed the 鈥樷�� 5K听race! Over the course of ten long weeks, students worked and trained with the D.C. based organization to develop essential skills to help them navigate the world and establish a long-term appreciation for health and fitness!
Thanksgiving at 91吃瓜网 鈥撎�We鈥檙e showing gratitude! Throughout the month our schools showed their gratitude听for one another through potlucks, gratitude walls, and holiday decorating. Special thanks to volunteers from 听who helped our staff听distribute turkeys at the 91吃瓜网 Webb Campus!听
